Larderlee Terms of Service

Last updated: October 8, 2026 Effective: October 2, 2026

These terms are a contract between you and JS Venture Labs LLC, the company that operates Larderlee ("we", "us"), 9528 Miramar Rd, Unit 6294, San Diego, CA 92126. By creating an account or using Larderlee ("the Service") you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Larderlee is offered in the United States only. We do not market or offer it elsewhere. If you use it from outside the US you do so on your own initiative, and you are responsible for complying with your local law.

1. What Larderlee is

Larderlee is a tool for keeping track of the food in your kitchen and the recipes you want to cook. You tell it what you have, you bring it recipes you have found, and it helps you work out what you can make.

We are a tool, not a publisher. We do not write, own, select or endorse the recipes you bring into Larderlee. What you save is your own private copy, kept for your own use.

2. Your account

You need an account, and an account needs to be approved by us before it can be used. We may decline or revoke approval at our discretion.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password to yourself. Tell us promptly at support@larderlee.com if you think someone else has access to it.

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use Larderlee only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Content you bring in

When you import or type in a recipe, you are making a copy of something for your own use. That is your decision and your responsibility, not ours.

You promise that you have the right to do it — because you wrote it, because you have permission, because it is not protected, or because your use is otherwise lawful where you are.

You must not use Larderlee to:

Recipes you save are private to you and, if you use a household, to the members of that household. The Service does not publish them on its own. A recipe reaches another person only when you choose to send it: by sharing it with someone, by attaching it to a meal post for your friends, or by sharing it with your friends or with everyone on Larderlee (below). Whoever can see it can then save their own copy.

Sharing recipes

You can share a recipe in your kitchen with your friends, or with everyone who has a Larderlee account, where it appears in Discover with your first name and username. Share only recipes you wrote or otherwise have the right to share. A recipe you imported from a website is shared with everyone as its title, ingredients and a link to the original, never the site's method or photo; you must not work around that by retyping someone else's recipe as your own.

You give us permission to store a recipe you share, to show it to the people you shared it with, and to let them save their own copy, for as long as it is shared. Stop sharing it, or delete it, and that permission ends, though copies people already saved stay theirs. Shared recipes are checked automatically against the rules below before anybody sees them, anyone can report one (including as copied from someone else), and we remove recipes that break these terms or someone's rights.

Friends and meal posts

You can add friends, and post about meals you make: a photo, a few words, the recipe. Everything you post is seen only by your friends, never by the public, and a friendship exists only when both people agree to it. If you turn on "show friends what I cook", your friends also see the name of each recipe you finish cooking.

Your posts stay yours. You give us permission to store what you post and to show it to your friends, and to let a friend save a copy of a recipe you attach, for as long as it is posted. Delete a post and that permission ends, though a copy a friend already saved stays theirs.

The rules. Larderlee is for food and the people you cook with. You must not post or comment anything that:

We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. Posts, comments and shared recipes are checked automatically before your friends see them, and something that looks like it breaks these rules is not shared. Anyone can report a post, a comment, a shared recipe or a person, and anyone can block anyone; a blocked person no longer sees you or your posts and is not told. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these rules, and suspend or remove the accounts of people who post it. We may remove anything we believe breaks these terms.

What other people post is theirs, not ours. We do not check it before it is shared beyond the automatic check above, and we are not responsible for it, but we will act on anything you report to us.

What we keep from an imported page

When you import from a link, Larderlee keeps the ingredient list, the preparation steps, timings and servings, together with the name of the source and a link back to it. It does not keep the article, the introduction, the author's commentary, or the photographs from the page.

We do this because ingredients and plain instructions are factual, while the writing and photography around them belong to whoever made them.

4. Copyright and takedowns

We respect copyright and we expect you to.

If you believe something a user has stored using the Service infringes your copyright, write to our designated agent:

DMCA Agent Joshua Slocum, JS Venture Labs LLC 9528 Miramar Rd, Unit 6294 San Diego, CA 92126 dmca@larderlee.com

Please include: your contact details; identification of the work; where the material is in the Service; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; a statement that your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the owner; and your signature.

We will act on valid notices, and we will terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe.

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address.

5. Nutrition, dietary preferences, and your health

Read this section even if you skip the rest.

Larderlee is not a medical device, a dietitian, or a source of medical advice, and nothing in it should be treated as any of those things.

Nutrition figures shown in the Service are estimates. They come from product labels, from public databases, and from software reading recipes — none of them a measurement of the food in your kitchen. They can be wrong, out of date, or missing entirely.

Ingredient avoidance is a filter over an incomplete catalogue, not a judgement about whether a food is safe or suitable for you. Larderlee cannot know what a packaged product contains unless you scan its barcode, and cannot know how a food was prepared, substituted, or contaminated.

Larderlee stores no personal nutrition target and makes no assessment of any recipe against your health. It reports figures about food and leaves the judgement to you.

If something matters medically — an allergy, an intolerance, diabetes, a condition, a pregnancy, a medication — check the packaging and speak to a qualified professional. Do not rely on Larderlee.

We are not liable for any decision you make about what to eat.

The ingredients you choose to avoid are treated as consumer health data and are covered by our Consumer Health Data Policy. We collect them only to filter what you see, we share them with nobody, and you can delete them in the app at any time.

6. Artificial intelligence features

Some features use third-party AI models to read a page, a photo or your typing, and turn it into a recipe or an answer.

These features make mistakes. They can misread a quantity, miss an ingredient, or state something confidently and wrongly. Check anything that matters before you cook it, which is why imported recipes are shown to you for review before they are saved.

To provide these features we send the relevant content — the text of a page you import, a photo you upload, or your question — to our AI provider. The Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.

7. Larderlee Plus subscriptions

Every feature of Larderlee is on the free plan, with limits. Larderlee Plus is an optional paid subscription that raises or removes them.

What is free. Everything, including receipt scanning, Scan My Kitchen, recipes from videos, smart substitutions, asking your kitchen what to cook, meal planning and a shared kitchen, with these limits:

What Plus adds. Unlimited saved recipes, photo imports, receipt photos, kitchen scans and recipes from videos; more shopping lists; and a shared kitchen of up to eight people.

One Plus covers the whole kitchen. While somebody has Plus they bought or we gave them, everybody in a shared kitchen with them has Plus too, at no extra cost and without their own subscription. It is tied to the kitchen: a person who leaves it, or is removed, goes back to the free plan, and so does everybody in it when the person paying stops. A new account's free week of Plus is that person's own and does not cover the kitchen. Smart requests on Plus are subject to a fair-use allowance of 500 a month, and every plan has daily limits, which exist to stop abuse rather than to limit ordinary cooking. The exact limits and the current price are shown in the app before you buy.

Who bills you. Plus is sold through the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPad and through Google Play on Android. Apple or Google takes the payment, charges the account you are signed in to with them, and their terms of sale apply alongside these. We never receive your card details.

Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period — monthly or yearly, whichever you chose — and your Apple or Google account is charged for the next period within the 24 hours before the current one ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Managing and cancelling. You manage and cancel Plus in your App Store account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Play Store, your profile, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions). Deleting the app, or deleting your Larderlee account, does not cancel a subscription. When you cancel, Plus stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, and then your account returns to the free limits. Nothing you saved is deleted: if you have more than 50 recipes you keep them all, and you simply cannot add more until you are under the limit or subscribe again.

Free trials. Plus starts with a free trial — currently 7 days on the yearly plan — which you start in the App Store or Google Play, and whose length and price after it are shown before you start it. You are not charged during the trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it becomes a paid subscription automatically and you are charged for the first year. Cancel in your Apple ID or Google Play subscriptions; deleting the app does not cancel it. A trial is offered once per person; if you cancel during a trial, it ends when you cancel or at the end of the trial, as Apple or Google decides.

Refunds. Because Apple and Google take the payment, refunds are handled by them under their own policies: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Google Play. We cannot issue a refund for a store purchase ourselves. Where the law gives you a right to a refund or a cooling-off period, that right applies and nothing here removes it.

Price changes. We may change the price of Plus. Apple and Google tell you about a price change in advance, as their rules require, and where they require your agreement to an increase, your subscription will not renew at the new price without it. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel.

Changing what is included. We may change the free limits or what Plus includes. We will not reduce what Plus includes during a period you have already paid for.

8. Availability

We try to keep the Service running and your data safe. We do not promise that it will be available without interruption, free of errors, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the Service altogether, we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to export your data.

9. Ending things

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, in the app under Profile, Delete my account. Our account deletion page says what that removes. Deleting your account does not cancel a Plus subscription; cancel it with Apple or Google first.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we are required to, or if we stop offering the Service.

10. The legal part

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss.

None of this limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law says cannot be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you before it takes effect, by email or in the app. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the change.

12. If you got Larderlee from the App Store

These terms are between you and JS Venture Labs LLC, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Larderlee or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If Larderlee fails to conform to a warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claim relating to Larderlee — including product liability, a failure to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims; we are, to the extent these terms say so. You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must also follow any third-party terms that apply when you use Larderlee, such as those of your mobile carrier. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and we both consent to their jurisdiction.

Nothing here removes any right you have under the consumer protection law of the state you live in.
