Larderlee is made by JS Venture Labs LLC. You can delete your Larderlee
account and its data at any time, from the app or by email. This page says
exactly what that removes, what is left, and for how long.
Delete it in the app
Open Larderlee and sign in.
Go to Profile.
Under Your data, tap Delete my account.
Confirm with Delete forever.
It happens straight away. You are signed out, and the account cannot be
recovered.
Want a copy first? Tap Export everything in the same place before you
delete. It gives you your recipes, pantry, lists and plans as a file.
Paying for Larderlee Plus? Deleting your account does not cancel the
subscription, because Apple or Google bills you for it, not us. Cancel it first
in your App Store settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions) or in Google
Play (your profile, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions).
If you cannot sign in
Email support@larderlee.com from the email address on your account and ask
us to delete it. If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email, write
from the Apple ID email instead and tell us — Apple forwards our reply through
its relay. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address before we act,
so nobody can delete an account that is not theirs.
We will delete the account and reply within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
What is deleted, immediately
Everything that belongs to your account:
your sign-in, email address, name, avatar and profile settings;
your recipes, including their photos, ratings, favourites and collections;
your pantry, shopping lists, meal plans, leftovers and staples;
your cooking log, the record of food you threw away, and the prices and shop
names from your receipts;
every photo you uploaded, for recipes or for scanning;
your dietary preferences (ingredients you avoid);
your household membership and invitations you sent, and your lines in a
shared kitchen's activity;
feedback you sent us and our replies;
your usage events and AI usage records;
links you made to share a recipe;
your friends list, friend requests, blocks and friend link, your Friends
name, username and profile picture, and every meal post, post photo, comment
and "yum" you made. Your friends stop seeing you at
once.
The one exception. If a photo you uploaded matched known child sexual abuse
material, or was flagged as possible sexual content involving a minor, it and
the account details needed to report it are kept, as US law requires, and are
not removed when the account is deleted.
If you share a kitchen, the pantry items, lists and recipes that you
added are deleted with your account, so the other members will see them go. If
you created the household, it closes, and each remaining member keeps their own
items in their own kitchen. Anyone who already saved a recipe you shared with
them keeps their own copy.
What is kept, and why
Nothing that identifies you stays in the app's database, with one exception.
Here is everything that remains:
Backups: up to 14 days on our server, up to 90 days off-site. Nightly
backups of the database and uploaded photos, kept on our own server with
restricted access, still contain your data until they are rotated out, at
most 14 days later. An encrypted copy is also kept off-site with Cloudflare,
which cannot read it, for up to 90 days. Both are used only to recover from
a failure, never to restore a deleted account.
Server logs: up to 30 days. Web server logs of requests, with IP address,
browser and time, are deleted on a 30-day cycle.
An invitation, if you were invited. If you joined because someone invited
your email address, that invitation (the address and the dates it was sent
and accepted) stays in our records of who was invited. Ask and we will
delete it.
Shared caches that are not linked to you. The result of reading a public
recipe page, and product details looked up from a barcode, are kept without
any link to who asked, so the next person asking gets them faster. AI results
expire after 30 days.
Emails we sent you. Our email provider, Postmark, keeps a copy of messages
it delivered for a limited period (45 days by default) and then deletes them.
Purchase records. If you subscribed to Plus, Apple or Google keeps the
record of the purchase under its own policy, and RevenueCat keeps the
subscription record against your former user id, which no longer matches any
account. Ask us and we will have RevenueCat delete it.
We do not keep anonymous copies of your recipes, pantry or photos.
